TIGERS BE STILL is a quirky, dark new comedy that centers around Sherry Wickman, a young woman, who finds herself unemployed, overwhelmed and back at home hiding out in her childhood bed. But when Sherry gets hired as a substitute art teacher and art therapist, things begin to brighten up. Now if only her mother would leave her room, her sister would get off the couch, her very first therapy patient would do just one of his take-home assignments, her new boss would leave his gun at home, and someone would catch the tiger that escaped from the local zoo, everything would be just perfect.
The San Francisco Chronicle called Tigers Be Still "an uproar of laughs." The New York Times called Kim Rosenstock's off-Broadway hit "an endearing new play . . a heartfelt comedy" in which a big cat on the loose from a local zoo fits right in with the anxiety and depression of modern life.
The HPT production is directed by Ken Webster and stars Molly Karrasch, Jon Cook, and Kelsey Kling.
The show runs at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, July 12 - August 11, 2011.
